DAAR WISTEN WE NU EEN KEER NIETS VAN.
EEN MEDEDELING VAN ONZE ICT-AMBTENAREN. BEETJE INGEKORT.
The City of Kortrijk starts experiments with different types of information screens both inside and outside the city buildings. We mainly distinguish screens for one-way communication (narrowcasting) and interactive screens (I-Points and other public computers).
With the now installed 40 narrowcasting screens the publishing of information will be streamed and organised in a more efficient way. Different applications become possible: (…) automatic publishing of the use of city premises in community centers and sport infrastructure.
(…)
Specific for the coming 5 exterior information screens (2 square meter screens) is that the target audience are care drivers.
(…)
The interactive I-Points are basically a computer with a touch-screen interface. They are information kiosk with mostly tourist information. (…) A kiosk reacts when a person approaches the screen. It starts an attractive animation which explains the functionalities of the I-Point. An intuitive menu on the touch-screen makes it easy to find the needed information. The results of the search can be easily transferred to the mobile phone of the visitor or mailed to an email adresss.
(…)
In a later stage the platform will be used to upgrade the existing network of 60 public computers and kiosk computers.
